Von Hipple- Lindau

Description Von Hipple-lindau is an inherited multi-system disorder character by abnormal growth of blood vessels. The blood vessels normally grow like trees. In people with VHL, little knots of blood capilaries sometimes occur. These knots are called angiomas or hemogioblastomas. Growths may develop in the retina, certain areas of the brain, the spinal chord, adrenal glands, and other parts of the body.

- The inheretance pattern is an autosomal dominant pattern, witch means that one copy of the altered gene in each cell is sufficient to increase the risk of developing tumors and cysts.
